Hello, I am toying with this idea and using a grid seems to be the way to do it. I want to create a colomn of light installing a softbox overhead with a narrow grid, pointing squarely at the floor, hoping that someone could move while being only partly lit or fully lit. Could it work? any comment ? Thanks

Is this bracket really strong enough to support the weight of an Octa-M with diffusers and grid attachments? I would hate to see the head of my FJ80 get snapped off.

Thanks for the video clarifying that the center pole should not be extended all the way. I do think that should be noted/updated in the paper instructions which just says to extend each arm fully and doesn't make any specific mention of the center pole. Nevertheless, excited to use it!

hi matt! thanks for this tutorial. watched it quite a few times. did this with a 41” reflective then a shoot through umbrella when the wind took down my other stand and role the other one. i made it work. did it for my daughter’s softball league. my question that i’m struggling with is balancing the exposure for darker skin tones. and not blowing out the super pale folks. any suggestions?

Beginner photography question how many flashes do you need to take these dramatic pictures? They look so epic to me.

Nikon user here: You tell us 4 settings to change but only tell us how to change 1 setting (E1 in the menu). You would have us time and frustration if you'd please tell us where the other 3 settings are located in the menu.

No way a double diffused softbox and 1/32nd power will be enough light even at f1.4 and ISO 100. Not enough power to get light through 2 diffusers.
